Legal professional with over a decade of experience as an in-house counsel and practicing lawyer. Part of global organisations, responsible for leading complex commercial negotiations in high value deals across jurisdictions and provide strategic legal solutions to the internal and external stakeholders. Pivotal in dealing with end to end contract management, legal compliances (for regulated and unregulated sector) and dispute resolution.
At Believe UK, my role is to provide legal solutions to the business teams and the management including negotiating and structuring a range of commercial contracts including digital distribution contracts, inter-company contracts, service provider contracts, recording agreements, asset purchase/ catalogue purchase agreements; handle pre-litigation and litigation matters; legal integration of acquired entities.
In my previous role, I was part of the global legal team and was the first legal hire in India & South Asia team. I started as a individual contributor and was the SPOC for all legal issues. I was responsible for drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts including digital distribution contracts, producer contracts, sync, recording contracts, branding and influencer contracts, lease, service provider agreements, supply chain and employee related issues. I was also responsible for leading negotiations in high value M&A deals on behalf of the parent Believe entity and ensuring post-merger compliances and streamlining the legal issues of the newly acquired entities. I was responsible for aligning higher management and business teams with the legal standards and mitigate risks. I worked closely with the global compliance team to implement GDPR regulations and streamline processes around collection of personal data in APAC region.
During the initial years of my career, I was part of the insurance sector and was responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ensuring adherence of regulatory compliances, handle ombudsman/ consumer related cases/complaints. I was pivotal in upholding legal excellence and facilitating strategic business initiatives.
