With over 15 years in the legal profession – spanning private practice, investment management and senior in-house roles in the technology sector – João Fachana has spent most of his career embedded at the intersection of law and business strategy.
He served for eight years at Farfetch as Legal Director and Group Data Protection Officer, where he built and led the legal function across Portugal and Brazil, as the company scaled into a global listed business.
He is currently General Counsel at BLOQ.IT, a European scale-up, where he leads the legal function across corporate, commercial, employment, compliance and IP matters.
Based in Porto, Portugal, João’s focus is on what legal leadership can actually look like in practice – less about managing risk in isolation, more about helping organisations make better decisions.
