GC Elite Leader Romania 2026
25+ years of in-house legal leadership across four heavily regulated industries – pharmaceuticals (Roche), media and broadcasting (Pro TV / CME Group), telecommunications (UPC Romania) and FMCG (British American Tobacco).
What I am known for:
– Closing an 11-year litigation carrying approximately €100 million of exposure for Roche Romania.
– Resolving competition authority investigations without fines, and restructuring a distribution model to eliminate competition law exposure while preserving market coverage.
– Negotiating the framework and subsequent contracts for the national oncology drug procurement with the Ministry of Health.
– Designing and defending an innovative Direct-to-Hospital and Direct-to-Pharmacy distribution model before the National Drug Agency, the Competition Council and the Ministry of Health.
– Securing passage of the Telecom Infrastructure Law through sustained engagement with the regulator, the ministry and the IT&C Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
– Leading the legal work-stream of a group-wide corporate restructuring across multiple Romanian entities.
I build legal functions that run lean. I carried the full legal, regulatory and compliance remit for the affiliate with a two-lawyer team, including an 11-year litigation with roughly €100 million at stake, defence before the Competition Council, and national public procurement negotiations. CEE Legal Matters interviewed me on in-house budget management for its Corporate Counsel Handbook.
My work spans corporate governance, compliance and ethics, competition law, commercial litigation and dispute resolution, data protection and GDPR, employment law, contract lifecycle management, M&A and due diligence, outside counsel management, and public affairs and regulatory strategy at Romanian and EU level.
I currently advise on EU and national regulatory change – and building the capability I believe every legal function will need next: structured readiness for the EU AI Act and for continuous regulatory change, including AI governance and the supervisory architecture taking shape in Romania.
