Leading the transition to a listed entity after India’s largest IPO, I am a seasoned General Counsel/CLO, an acclaimed C-Suite leader possessing thirty plus years of domestic and international experience across the spectrum of courts, law firms, and as General Counsel in MNC and Indian conglomerates in varied sectors encompassing global technology services, internet, media, advertising, telecom, financial services, automotive and mobility.
My expertise comprises ideation-to-execution of core legal, and allied areas like compliance, ethics, government relations, public policy, regulatory dealings, board management and corporate governance, including oversight of company secretarial, risk management, internal controls and assurance.
A T-shaped leader with deep vertical domain skills and broad horizontal skill sets in areas of Finance, HR, general management, ESG and DEI, I have been part of the top management in each in-house role, enabling, guiding and protecting organisations in fast paced, dynamic and progressively complex business and regulatory environments.
I have embellished experiential learning on the job with structured academic programs from reputed educational institutions to stay abreast, whet curiosity and develop mental wherewithal to connect the dots between the different lifelines within an organisation with the ultimate objective of adding value, both to the organisation and its ecosystem.
I have set up, developed and mentored strong teams, led development of the legal and regulatory backbone to support scaling up, created blueprints for regulatory advocacy, improved processes and leveraged technology to deliver fast, sound and robust solutions, anticipated stakeholders’ needs, partnered and collaborated with business seamlessly, and executed flawlessly.
I have been acknowledged as a tall people leader, possessing gravitas, executive presence, cultural navigability, an ability to thrive in matrixed structures, building strong relationships, and having a sense of humour!
I have dual legal qualification : India and UK (eligible to be enrolled as a Solicitor in England and Wales). I have been a Board Director, am enrolled in the data base of Independent Directors possessing the requisite certificate of proficiency, and am a life member of the Institute of Directors (IOD).
In the midst of all of this, I also found time to run sixteen half marathons, travel, spend quality time with family, and network.
