Matthias Meckert is Head of Legal Continental Europe with PGIM Real Estate. PGIM Real Estate is the real estate investment business of PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. He is part of the team which is overseeing the operations in PGIM Real Estate’s offices in Frankfurt, München, Luxembourg, Paris and Milan.
Matthias does have more than 25 years of experience in the real estate sector, first in private practice (former partner with Mayer Brown LLP) and since 2013 with PGIM Real Estate. In addition to his vast experience in complex real estate transactions on the continent, Matthias has expanded his areas of expertise into regulatory aspects of the fund industry (AIFMD, MiFID2), fund structuring and into the fast moving world of ESG regulation.
Matthias is sitting on the legal committee of BVI (German fund association) and in the advisory board of Anwaltsspiegel and BWD (Bundesverband Wirtschaftskanzleien Deutschland). He is frequently invited to speak on industry panels and has received several industry awards.
