At peak I led the legal and company secretarial directorate for the TUI Group’s entire markets & airlines commercial and operational business: huge tech platforms, five airlines flying 140+ aircraft, cruise operations, 400+ retail properties, tour operators moving 25 million customers worldwide. £18bn in revenue and a FTSE250 listing.
I have scaled and transformed legal functions in heavily regulated, tech-focussed consumer-facing businesses across leisure, hospitality, travel, aviation, marine & retail.
I built a genuinely cross-border operation with. C.80 lawyers and support staff across 12 countries operating as a single team, delivering effective service, and acting as a catalyst driving our businesses forward not just as support. I created one of the most engaged populations in the group.
I translate legal complexity into decisions we can act upon. I read both situations and stakeholders fast. I think commercially across the business, not just from a legal viewpoint. I frequently challenge thinking and create options, and clear recommendations, rather than just responding to what’s already framed. I have generated creative and successful solutions to many problems that others thought insurmountable.
I’ve led strategy through terrorism, pandemic shutdowns, M&A, major regulatory investigations, compliance issues, and cross-border disputes.
