Gianina Luiza Istrate is a highly analytical practitioner with an extensive focus on regulatory frameworks, energy & natural resources, and complex construction and infrastructure projects. Her comprehensive practice also encompasses a wide range of corporate & commercial matters, cross-border mergers & acquisitions, environmental law, and major compliance projects. Additionally, she brings significant specialised expertise to public procurement, administrative law, and concession structures.
She has recently advised a prominent portfolio of clients on high-profile mandates, including business transfers for international gas exploration and production operations, and project development frameworks for major offshore gas assets in the Black Sea. Her recent track record also includes structuring and negotiating complex FIDIC-type EPC agreements for leading renewable energy developers, advising on utility-scale wind and solar acquisitions, and managing full regulatory, permitting, and surface rights clearances for major European mining operations. On a public sector level, she has also successfully guided local municipalities through the strategic establishment and delegation of public property management services.
Member of the Bucharest Bar, Gianina holds a Bachelor of Laws as well as a Master of Laws in Public Procurement, Concessions & PPP from the University of Bucharest.
