Recognising excellence in in-house legal leadership
Welcome to the inaugural GC Elite Leaders Germany 2026
This list recognises outstanding General Counsel and senior in-house legal leaders who have earned the respect, trust and recognition of their peers across the German in-house legal community.
GC Elite Leaders is built on a simple belief: the people best placed to identify exceptional legal leaders are those who work alongside them, engage with them and experience their impact firsthand. Developed through extensive market research, peer recommendations and independent assessment, the programme reflects the views and insights of the in-house legal community itself, making inclusion a genuine form of peer-to-peer recognition.
The role of the General Counsel has never been more important. Today’s legal leaders are expected not only to provide legal guidance, but also to serve as strategic advisers, business partners, risk managers, transformation leaders and trusted voices in the boardroom. Much of their most significant work happens behind the scenes, helping organisations navigate complexity, seize opportunities and make better decisions.
The individuals featured on this list represent a diverse range of industries, organisations and experiences, but share a common characteristic: they are recognised by their peers as leaders within the profession and as individuals whose influence extends far beyond the legal function.
Congratulations to all those recognised in the inaugural GC Elite Leaders Germany 2026.
On 9 June 2026, GC Elite officially unveiled the inaugural GC Elite Leaders Germany 2026 at a celebration evening in Frankfurt, hosted by our partners, Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein.
The event brought together an exceptional group of General Counsel, Chief Legal Officers and senior in-house legal leaders from across Germany to celebrate the launch of the inaugural list and recognise the contribution that in-house legal teams make to the organisations, industries and economies they help shape every day.
Set against the backdrop of Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein‘s stunning Frankfurt offices, with panoramic views across the city skyline, the evening provided an opportunity for legal leaders from a wide range of industries to come together, reconnect with peers, build new relationships and enjoy an evening dedicated to celebrating the profession.
Guests also heard a keynote address from Francesco Sciortino, Hub Manager Frankfurt and Accountable Manager and Member of the Lufthansa Airlines Board, entitled “License to Operate – Risk, Regulation, and Everyday Reality”, offering fascinating insights into leadership, risk and decision-making in one of the world’s most highly regulated industries.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the official GC Elite Leaders Germany 2026 certificates, recognising each honouree’s inclusion in the inaugural list and providing a moment to celebrate the achievements of some of Germany’s most respected in-house legal leaders.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the research process, attended the event and contributed to making the inaugural GC Elite Leaders Germany programme such a success. We are also grateful to Sebastian Jungermann and his team at Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein for hosting a truly memorable evening, and to the GC Elite Germany Advisory Board, led by Timo Matthias Spitzer, for their support and guidance throughout the programme.
